2006-03-23 Delivery of Windows Vista for consumer not until the beginning of the year 2007
The succeeding version of Windows XP will make available for the consumer not until the beginning of the year 2007, and not in the late autumn 2006, as first announced by Microsoft. However, within a b2b-partnership the companies are able to use the new development. Here there are no problems. Also companies have the possibilities for detailed tests, to eliminate later possible weak-points. It seems that the final-version for the consumer have still grave lacks, amongst others there are lacks in the safety and that is what the most important decision-board decided to that step. For all that the change of date is still in the time-frame, so a statement from the company.
However this change could be a loss, because it is not possible to sell the products in the lucrative Christmas-time. It is possible that this could have impacts on the whole industry, mainly the hardware-industry may reckon with losings, if the clients the buying of a new computer move in that period in which the new operating-system will be available. Experts mentioned that this affect the producers of computer basicly more then all other branches.
Should Windows Vista still be available on time, would be difficulties come-up with the timely delivery of finished computers with the installed software from Southeast-Asia to the supermarkets in the United States. Gift coupons for Windows Vista with a new computer or for complete-offers should be alternatives for the Christmas-trade.
