2006-03-07 Microsoft announced the final support-end for Windows 9x / ME

Microsoft announced that after repeated extensions the extended support-phase for Windows 98/ 98 SE/ ME (Millenium Edition) will be definitely expired to the 30th of June, 2006 and therefore involved the technical support as well as the publication of further security-updates. Nevertheless there is anymore the possibility to use the support-centre to call-up articles about technical information or troubleshootings.

In the course of the technical development Microsoft recommends an upgrade on Windows XP to protect the system everythime in the form of ongoing Microsoft-upgrades.
